Long-Term Compliance
Regulatory managers and plant workers rely on (M)SDSs to take decisions which can make a difference on their health, safety, environment and sometimes, their lives.
Real-time compliance is an obligation for all (M)SDSs and labels, this feature is requested by all EHS and Environmental regulations.
Real-time compliance can be achieved through our long-term compliance program. From time to time, MSDSs must be updated in order to comply with new regulations, new classifications, new substance information and specific country requirements.
For example:
- In 2009, the UN has published the 16th revised edition of its Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods. Was Section 14 of your (M)SDSs authored using a previous edition? If affirmative, a revision is recommended.
- Some countries, like Canada, require MSDS revisions after 3 years. What is the date of the latest revision of your Canadian MSDSs?
- All (M)SDSs have to be updated to the GHS in each of the countries where the GHS is being implemented, i.e. at this time: Japan, Korea, New-Zealand and Thailand. Do your SDSs for these countries comply with the GHS? Your labels?
- Since June 2007, REACH requires new information on all EU Safety Data Sheets shipped to any of the 27 Member States. Are you aware of these modifications?
- By December 2010, the European Union will require that all substances SDSs comply with the CLP/GHS – 2015 for mixtures. Will you be ready for 2010? GHS SMARt© is your 1st step to GHS compliance.
In other words, real-time and long-term compliance are the two sides of the same coin.
Can you afford the burden and do you have the regulatory competencies to do-it-yourself? KMK can assist. Upon request, we provide long-term compliance plans featuring professional, automated, secure and real-time MSDS and label revision and updating, including the following services:
